Welcome to the Holy Church of Saint Titus, one of the most historic and iconic monuments in the heart of Heraklion. This church is dedicated to Saint Titus, the first Bishop of Crete and disciple of the Apostle Paul, who brought Christianity to our island. The building's history reflects the turbulent path of Crete itself; it has served as a Byzantine church, a Latin cathedral under Venetian rule, an Ottoman mosque, and once again an Orthodox church. As you step inside, your eyes will be drawn to the chapel on the left, where the Honorable Skull of Saint Titus is kept. This sacred relic returned to Heraklion in 1966 from Venice, standing as a landmark of spiritual unity for all Cretans.
